Carolina Panthers Hiring Dave Canales as Head Coach: Report

The Carolina Panthers will be appointing Tampa Bay's offensive coordinator Dave Canales as its next head coach, per multiple reports.

Canales, who was in his first season as an OC in 2023, has already been offered the position according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

While a deal has not yet been officially struck, it is expected to be an inevitability.

Canales helped Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield revive his NFL career and will be expected to help rejuvenate rookie QB, Bryce Young, who had a tough rookie year in Charlotte.

The Los Angeles native spent 13 years with the Seattle Seahawks between 2010-2023.

From 2018-22 he was the team's quarterbacks coach, working with the likes of Russell Wilson and Geno Smith before accepting the OC in Tampa.
